At the weekend, Kicker reported Everton manager David Moyes has included Merlin Röhl in his target list and that SC Freiburg are aware of it.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg backs up Kicker’s claim and provides more on the Toffees’ desire to sign Röhl.
He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report that Everton have ‘expressed concrete interest’ in the 22-year-old.
The Merseyside club are determined to secure the midfielder’s services in the summer window.
Plettenberg claims the player’s exit is not ruled out by the parties involved, meaning Röhl and his club are open a transfer. He adds the German club will need over €20m to sell him in the next window.
According to the journalist, Röhl dreams of making a switch to the Premier League and this should certainly please Everton, who are firm on acquiring his signature.
Everton aren’t the only Premier League club chasing the midfielder. Bild reported on Tuesday that Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Liverpool are also following him.
Röhl has played 924 minutes from 17 games as two different injuries has limited his game time this season.
