Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite’s decision to join PSV Eindhoven on loan last summer has clearly paid off as he’s enjoyed regular game time with them this season.

His performances have pleased PSV manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has publicly talked about his desire to retain the 20-year-old beyond this season. It won’t be easy for the Dutch club due to the demands set by the Toffees.

Voetbal International journalist Marco Timmer has told Skiete Willy Podcast, relayed by PSV Fans, about the efforts put in by the Eredivisie side to buy the Everton owned player.

Timmer is of the belief the offers, between €10m and €15m, requested by Everton for the centre-back is low.

“Everton have already told PSV ‘no’ three times. This amounts between €10m and €15m, but it concerns a player who was potentially worth double that [amount]. But on the other hand: [Union Berlin’s Timo] Baumgartl also cost €10m,” he said.

The journalist further stressed the England U20 international could ask to continue at PSV, more so if Everton were to be relegated from the Premier League this season. They are currently 17th in the table, two points ahead of 18th placed Leicester City.

“PSV are able to afford that, but then they can spend less on other players. I just think that Everton will have to compromise if they are relegated. And they are on the verge of relegation. He would like to stay,” Timmer explained.
