On Thursday, Gazzetta dello Sport shared confidence Atalanta will be able to land Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana for a cut-price fee of around €15m.

They claimed new Atalanta manager Ivan Juric wants to reunite with the attacker in Bergamo, with contacts having taken place already. A major update has now arrived and Southampton could be close to losing the Ghana international, while potentially earning a higher fee than the €15m mentioned previously.

TuttoAtalanta report La Dea are ‘one step away’ from signing the 23-year-old and key progress has been made.

This happened after the Italian club accelerated talks with Southampton late last night, offering a fee that reaches €18-20m including bonuses.

Juric has specifically demanded Sulemana’s signing and Atalanta’s management have given approval to the move, as they try to seek a small discount on the amount initially requested by the Saints.

The belief is that ‘white smoke’ could arrive soon and it won’t be long before the attacker joins Atalanta.

Juric showed faith in Sulemana in the second half of the 2024/25 season and considering that, it could be a move that helps the player progress.
