Giorgio Scalvini has been a regular for Atalanta this season and his performances have seen him draw interest from several clubs, including Manchester City.

On March 28th Tuttosport stated the Citizens are ‘in the lead’ to sign the centre-back in the next window.

Corriere di Bergamo now state Manchester City will have to battle it out with several teams to acquire the 19-year-old’s services.

Even though an offer hasn’t arrived for the defender, Atalanta have already received polls and believe there will be a ‘great auction’ for him in the summer.

The starting price is set at €40m and this could increase if two or more clubs are ready for an auction. The Serie A side ‘won’t oppose’ the teenager’s sale if a proposal in this region were to arrive.

Bayern Munich, Juventus, Napoli, Real Madrid and Manchester City are named as the Italy international’s suitors.

The €40m fee is already deemed expensive by the two Serie A sides. Bayern, who have been asking for information about the player since January, won’t have a problem to pay this price. Carlo Ancelotti has also identified him as a target for Los Blancos.

Manchester City are also interested in Scalvini. In fact, Pep Guardiola’s side ‘really like him a lot’ because of his ability to play both in defence and midfield.

Corriere di Bergamo state the English club are starting from a ‘disadvantageous position’, without specifying the reason for the same.

Either way, Manchester City and Scalvini’s other suitors are ‘ready to bid’ for him in the summer.

With Atalanta willing to cash in from Scalvini’s sale and several clubs interested in him, he’s all but set to play for a new team next season.
