Everton can sign defender Lorenz Assignon for €10m this summer, with Stade Rennais more than happy to move him on.
That’s according to Ouest France, who put a price tag on the full-back today after previous reports failed to do so.
A report midway through June indicated that Everton had shown interest in Assignon, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley.
That report made it clear that Stade Rennais were open to a sale for a reasonable price and there was an easy negotiation there to be done if Everton wanted it.
It never stated how much the French side would be looking to secure for the defender, though, leaving his potential price tag somewhat ambiguous.
Ouest France now go one step further, explaining that Assignon ‘has interest’ this summer and ‘should leave’.
They fail to name any particular club interested in him at this moment in time but say that Stade Rennais would demand around €10m for him.
Whether that tempts Everton into making a move remains to be seen. The right-back position remains a problem one for them and with Ben Godfrey having departed this summer, an area of Sean Dyche’s squad they need to strengthen in.
