Everton and Brighton and Hove Albion may find themselves priced out of a move for VfB Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade, as they now value him at €40-50m.
That’s at least if the latest from SportBILD is to believed, with them covering the striker today and again insisting that Everton and Brighton are eyeing a move for him in the summer.
The newspaper explains that the 23-year-old is remaining calm after an excellent season that’s got the suitors lining up for him.
They explain that Bayer Munich have already been in contact with his agent, while he’s also on the list at Everton and Brighton as well. A report at the end of last month insisted they were battling Bayern for him as well.
The issue for those clubs is that Woltemade has a contract with Stuttgart that runs until 2028. That deal does not include a release clause either.
Internally the German club are only willing to discuss a transfer fee of €40m but they actually believe a €50m fee would be something they can achieve. That would absolutely put him out of Everton’s reach.
Brighton have more money to spend than the Toffees but after a big summer last year may be hesitant at those prices.
The insistence in Germany is that they’re interested in the 23-year-old either way, even with his price tag continuing to rise.
