Barcelona defender Eric Garcia has hailed former teammate Bernardo Silva as he continues to be linked with a move to the Camp Nou from Manchester City.

The Portuguese midfielder was one of the stars of the show for Manchester City last season, playing a key role in their title win despite being linked with a move away last summer.

Reports have consistently stated that he would be open to leaving the Etihad and moving to Spain so he can be closer to his family in Portugal.

Barcelona are thought to be at the top of his wishlist, and he’s been linked with a move should they sell Frenkie de Jong this summer.

The path from Manchester City to Barcelona is one that has been well trodden in recent years, with the likes of Ferran Torres and Eric Garcia both making the switch.

It means Silva would be surrounded by familiar faces should he make the switch from Manchester City, and Garcia has been asked about the possibility of it happening.

“I don’t know what will happen with Bernardo,” Sport report him saying.

“He is a fantastic player, a good friend. We are at Barça, we have great players like him, but I don’t know what will happen in the future.”
