Arsenal have entered the chase for Shakhtar Donetsk star Georgiy Sudakov, according to a report from Italy.
The attacking midfielder has been staring for the Ukrainian club in recent seasons and that hasn’t gone unnoticed. Napoli were keen on signing him in January but saw their €50m bid turned down.
This is highlighted by Corriere dello Sport, who also mention Arsenal interest in the 21-year-old.
The report focuses on the Serie A side’s plans for the next window and Sudakov continues to be a target for them.
Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergej Palkin has made it clear that €50m won’t be enough, also because the English club have ‘entered the dance’ for the Ukraine international.
This has seen Shakhtar Donetsk rub their hands as they have a clear aim to make another big sale after selling Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea for €100m including bonuses in January 2023.
Napoli have to be careful during the negotiations, while the Ukrainian club will look to take advantage of a potential bidding war for the talented player.
It’s claimed Arsenal have appeared as the first suitor from England and there’s been persistent talk of their interest in Sudakov. This won’t please Napoli as they are set for a ‘duel with the Gunners’ in the summer window.
Given it’s widely agreed Chelsea vastly overpaid for Mudryk, it’s unlikely another club is going to do similar for Sudakov.
