Last month, we saw Corinthians youngster Pedrinho getting linked to Arsenal.
It was first Band host Neto who hinted that the youngster could be on his way to the Gunners. Then journalist Jorge Nicola got the interest from the London side backed up by the player’s club and representatives.
Now as Goal journalist Thiago Fernandes shares some news on this pursuit, he has very interesting updates about it.
He claims that Arsenal director Edu Gaspar met Corinthians president Duilio Monteiro Alves to talk about Pedrinho. There, the Gunners’ chief showed their interest in making an offer for the 17-year-old.
The bid is still to be made, but it was ‘made clear’ they’ll make an attempt in the future. That’s why the Brazilian club made the player’s staff aware that they may negotiate with him soon.
The report doesn’t bring any details on how much would this transfer cost. Pedrinho is protected by Corinthians with a €120m release clause, and even though it’s clear Arsenal won’t pay anything near that, it gives the South American club the chance to demand whatever they want.
It’s always worth recalling that Edu Gaspar not only played, but was also a football director at Corinthians in the past, so he has very good connections at the club to this day.
