Newcastle United are one of the few sides that can afford the wages of Juventus man Dusan Vlahovic, according to Italian media, while Eddie Howe would be “very happy” with his signing.
A report from CalcioMercato has revealed the manager’s intentions should Alexander Isak, who’s been linked extensively away from St James’ Park, depart the club in the forthcoming summer transfer window.
The Magpies are already in need of another striker to supplement Isak – so should he leave, then they will be left grossly undernourished in that department.
So it’s thought that Vlahovic may fill the potential void left by him. The Serbian striker’s deal is up on 30 June 2026 and there has been no indication that a fresh contract will be forthcoming.
So a move away has been mooted – and CalcioMercato claim Newcastle are among the few clubs that can afford his €12million per year wages.
The Old Lady striker has had a capricious time in Turin since joining from Fiorentina in a deal worth €70 million in the January window of 2022. This campaign, he has netted just nine Serie A goals from 25 games, making his Juventus total 55 from 139 matches.
As for Isak, he has emerged as one of the world’s best strikers since arriving from Real Sociedad in 2022, with his season being his best so far with 31 goal contributions from 36 matches.
Consequently, the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool have been rigorously linked – though Newcastle’s league standing and the likelihood that they will gain entry to the Champions League next season makes any deal difficult to do.
