Earlier this week, we covered claims from Turkey that Tottenham Hotspur had scouted Fenerbahçe’s İsmail Yüksek in the UEFA Europa Conference League match against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise last week.
It was also stated the north London club’s officials would take a closer look at the 25-year-old in the same competition on Thursday and when the Yellow Canaries face Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Cup next month.
TV100 now state Tottenham have set their sights on the midfielder to replace Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.
The 28-year-old Denmark international’s playing time under Ange Postecoglou this season has been restricted and with a contract expiring in 2025, he could be allowed to leave the Premier League side in the summer.
It’s said Tottenham want Yüksek, who has managed a goal and five assists from 35 games this season, to replace Højbjerg.
The Turkey international has just over three years left on his contract and the report states Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç needs ‘at least €20m’ to sanction his sale. Koç also insists that he won’t offer any discount to the interested parties.
Fenerbahçe have already received an offer from France and TV100 suggest Tottenham may send a proposal for Yüksek in the summer. Whether that’ll be the case remains to be seen.
