West Ham United’s reported interest in Sevilla striker Youssef En Nesyri ‘doesn’t seem very real’, despite claims to the contrary.
That’s according to AS, who insist that they have been unable to back up the claims from England regarding the striker.
West Ham have long been linked with a move for En Nesyri, having made a move for him in January 2021 and the following summer.
They were again linked this year as David Moyes looked to strengthen his forward line but instead signed Gianluca Scamacca in a big money move from Sassuolo in the summer.
That hasn’t put an end to the rumours, though, with the Hammers again linked over the last few weeks as En Nesyri has been starring at the World Cup with Morocco.
That’s been warmly welcomed by Sevilla, who are hoping for a sale in the January transfer window as they desperately try to raise funds to bolster Jorge Sampaoli’s squad.
West Ham have been named as suitors in England but AS insist that is something they haven’t been able to confirm, instead stating that ‘it doesn’t seem very real’.
They state that is he continues to shine at the World Cup then other suitors will soon appear, particularly as Sevilla would now happily sell for €20m to recoup what they paid for the striker.
Whether that will entice West Ham back into the mix remains to be seen but for now at least, there’s been no confirmation of their interest in Spain.
