On Thursday, Corriere dello Sport reported that the next 48 hours will be crucial in AS Roma’s move for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.
The newspaper reported the Italian side are optimistic about concluding a deal, having previously agreed a framework for an initial loan with an option to buy.
Corriere dello Sport report more developments today and the indication is the Brighton player’s exit has edged a step closer.
The newspaper states the option to buy Ferguson permanently will range from €30m to €45m and everything now depends on how much the Giallorossi can pay in bonuses to meet the asking price.
So far, Roma have proposed options tied to appearances, goals and assists, but this offer has been rejected by Brighton.
Corriere dello Sport still insist an ‘agreement will be reached somehow’, with the Seagulls looking to earn as much as €45m from the permanent sale and the Rome club pushing to pay less. Work is ongoing to determine that final price.
The rough agreement between the two parties means that one way or another, the deal should be done soon.
