After completing Jadon Sancho’s signing, Manchester United have their focus on Raphaël Varane.

Over the weekend, AS reported the La Liga side have ‘rejected’ United’s initial bid for the centre-back.

Journalist Carlos Bustillo has now told El Transistor the 28-year-old is ‘not going to force’ an exit as there are talks of a €50m move to Old Trafford.

According to Bustillo, ‘we will know something’ about the France international’s future this week.

Le Parisien are also reporting the former Lens man never intended to force his way out of the Spanish capital club due to the ‘great respect’ he has for Los Blancos.

The defender changed agents in September 2020 and is now managed by British agency CAA Base, and the newspaper adds he did this with an intention of moving to the Premier League.

It’s claimed discussions between United and Carlo Ancelotti’s side have ‘intensified’ and these talks should lead to the World Cup winner ending up in Manchester.

As per Le Parisien, the deal to take the defender to United is likelier to be concluded by the end of this week for €45m.

Varane has less than a year left on his contract and even though Real Madrid offered him an extension, he felt the ‘time had come to take his career in a new direction and explore another environment’, and Manchester United fit the bill, both financially and sporting wise.
