For those who didn’t know, Paul José Mpoku, who spent three years of his career contracted to Tottenham, is the brother of Arsenal’s Albert Sambi Lokonga.

The 29-year-old is currently playing for Konyaspor in the Süper Lig, but he spent the vast majority of his career in Belgium with Standard Liège.

That’s why it isn’t surprising to see him be interviewed by HLN, where he was asked about the Arsenal midfielder, who arrived from Anderlecht last summer in a £16m deal.

He surprised everyone by quickly becoming a key member of Mikel Arteta’s side during the first half of the campaign, which also helped him get his first cap for Belgium.

However, some, including Mpoku, feel the 22-year-old needs to be recognised more for what he’s achieved at such a young age, which includes 78 appearances for Anderlecht, where he became their captain.

He said, relayed by Walfoot: “Arsenal have a style of football that suits my brother. What he’s already done is amazing. He deserves respect. I actually find he isn’t correctly respected in the national team”.

As for Lokonga’s 13 games for the Gunners, he said: “It’s great for someone who comes from the Belgian competition. It’s not easy to play in the Premier League”.
