Fanatik claim Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli has told Derby County boss Phillip Cocu that Ferdi Kadioglu will be staying at the Turkish club.

The Rams have been linked with the youngster in recent weeks as Cocu looks to strengthen his squad in this transfer window.

It was reported the Derby County manager is keen to sign Kadioglu, who he worked with at Fenerbahce last season.

However, following Derby’s reported interest in the attacker it’s now claimed Comolli sent a message to Cocu and said the 20 year old will be staying in Istanbul.

According to Fanatik, the English side were preparing to make a loan offer with an option to buy the former NEC Nijmegen player, but Fener will keep him in their squad.

This season the Dutch U21 international has been mainly coming off the bench for Fenerbahce, but despite his limited time on the pitch his numbers and performances are quite impressive.

Kadioglu has featured 11 times in all competitions in this campaign, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
