Nottingham Forest have made Stade Rennais defender Adrien Truffert a ‘priority’ signing this summer as they seek out a new left-back.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say Nottingham Forest have put the ‘in demand’ defender at the top of their transfer wish list.
Steve Cooper needs to find a new left-back for his squad this summer after losing Renan Lodi, who spent last season on loan from Atletico Madrid but has not been retained.
He currently has Omar Richards and Harry Toffolo at his disposal but neither appear to be fancied.
According to FM’s information, Truffert is the one they like, and he is in ‘in the sights’ of those in charge at Nottingham Forest.
Indeed, the website reports that they’ve made the defender a priority target and want him above others they have been looking at.
There’s no mention of a bid being made to Rennes at present, but the suggestion is that it will be forthcoming. How warmly welcomed it will be when it does arrive is up for debate though and the French side do not want to sell.
They have Truffert tied down to a deal until 2025 and he is seen as ‘indisputable’ by manager Bruno Genesio so there’s no rush to sell, meaning Nottingham Forest will have to make their offer an enticing one if they’re to get a deal over the line.
