In recent days it’s been reported in Italy that Napoli are considering signing Darwin Nuñez, with a belief he could have more of a leading role for them than he’s had at Liverpool recently.

Sunday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport brings AC Milan into the picture.

The Rossoneri signed Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord in the last transfer window, and now they want to bring in another high profile addition in attack. Gazzetta state Milan ‘want a No.9 capable of guaranteeing goals’ and that the Liverpool player has been offered to the club.

It’s thought that despite being the subject of some criticism in England, Darwin Nuñez has something special and could do very well in Serie A. Interest from Napoli is again mentioned and whilst there’s nothing especially serious at this stage, it’s thought Liverpool wouldn’t be able to go too crazy on asking price.

The Uruguay international earns around €4.7m salary after tax. Such an amount is considered high for AC Milan and Napoli, but it’s certainly doable.

AC Milan ‘dream of a big No.9’, report Gazzetta, and the Liverpool player is said to be ‘ready’.
