On February 22nd, Calciomercato reported Liverpool are in the front row to sign Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners.
Two days later, we relayed news from Italy that Liverpool are ready to compete with Juventus for the midfielder, who’s valued at around €60m.
Juve have identified the 26-year-old as the main target for the midfield and a deal won’t be easy, mostly due to the competition from the Premier League. That’s according to Tutto Juve, who have named the Reds as one of the interested parties.
The Netherlands international has scored 10 goals and registered two assists from 29 games this season. His impressive performances have helped him improve his valuation and also the number of clubs chasing him.
Liverpool are among them and it’s said they ‘could present a proposal’ worth €50-60m, which the Old Lady won’t be able to match.
This would allow the Merseyside club to get ahead of Juve in the transfer race.
Koopmeiners is the first name on the list in Turin but ‘there is a danger’ to Juventus from England, where Liverpool are keen on signing him.
Along with the Reds, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are also said to be looking at the Atalanta star.
