Crystal Palace have sent a first official offer for €15m for Slavia Prague’s El Hadji Malick Diouf, starting the bidding process for the left-back.
That’s according to journalist Santi Aouna, who says the offer has been refused for the Senegalese fullback.
Diouf has found himself being linked with a move to the Premier League over the last few months, with Brentford and Nottingham Forest both credited with an interest in November and then again at the end of December.
The 20-year-old has been impressing for Slavia Prague this season, with six goals and three assists in the Chance Liga to date. He’s also played six games in the Europa League and four in Champions League qualifying too.
This season is proving to be his breakthrough one, after arriving from Tromso in a €2.5m deal in January last year.
His performances have not gone unnoticed and now Crystal Palace have made the first move, sending a ‘first official offer’ to Slavia Prague according to Aouna’s information.
He does not provide the details of that offer but insists it was rejected, before adding that ‘many clubs are interested’ in the youngster this month.
Whether that prompts Crystal Palace to up their bid to try and get him ahead of that competition, remains to be seen, but they’ve now opened the doors and made their move for the defender, nonetheless.
