Crystal Palace are ‘pushing’ to sign Kelechi Iheanacho from Leicester City and are ready to pay up to get a deal over the line.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says Crystal Palace are ready to pay €10-15m all in for the striker but that may not be enough.
Iheanacho has been linked with a move away from Leicester for much of the summer following their relegation to the Championship last season.
There are several Premier League sides who have shown interest in him, believing there is a deal there to be done as Leicester restructure and their biggest stars look to depart rather than play in the Championship.
So far, a move has not materialised, but it appears Crystal Palace are keen to change that and are ready to pay €10-15m ‘all in’ to get their man.
That figure, though, wouldn’t be enough to convince Leicester as they are looking to secure €18m for the striker, who cost them €27.7m to sign from Manchester City in 2017.
Thus, ‘negotiations are stalling’ according to Plettenberg but Iheanacho is keen on the move to Selhurst Park so that is likely to factor into things.
The implication is because he is keen, Crystal Palace will continue negotiations in the hope of finding an agreement with Leicester before the transfer deadline this week.
