Crystal Palace youngster Naouirou Ahamada is set to join Rennes on loan until the end of the season.
That’s according to Ouest France, who report that the French side have targeted the 22-year-old as a replacement for Benjamin Bourigeaud.
The newspaper reports that Ahamada is expected to arrive at Rennes at some point today for a medical before completing the temporary move from Crystal Palace.
A deal is close to being done between the two sides and, unless there are any last-minute surprises, he will be joining the French side on loan.
They have targeted him quickly as a replacement for Bourigeaud, who is expected to finalise a move to Al-Duhail in Qatar at some point today.
Ahamada has only been with Crystal Palace since January 2023, when he signed on deadline day in a €12m deal from Stuttgart.
He’s made 31 appearances totalling 518 minutes since then but doesn’t appear to be part of Oliver Glasner’s plans for the time being so is being allowed to return to France, presumably in the hope he can get regular playing time and kick on his development.
