Club América goalkeeper Luis Malagón has ended up on Crystal Palace’s transfer agenda.

That’s according to journalist Juan Carlos Ibarrarán, and he reports about Crystal Palace’s interest for Caliente TV, relayed by Infobae.

The 27-year-old arrived at the Mexican club in 2023 and has been a regular this season, keeping seven clean sheets and conceding 26 goals from 23 games.

His performances have caught the attention of Crystal Palace, and Juan Carlos Ibarrarán claims they have made an approach.

The Eagles are 15th in the table with 20 points after 19 games and are six points ahead of 18th placed Leicester City. The journalist claims the Premier League side are already in talks with Malagón’s representatives over a potential deal.

“Luis Malagón, despite not being very tall, Crystal Palace are already looking for him. Be careful, it’s a team that is fighting relegation, they are looking to save themselves in the Premier League,” he said.

“Negotiations have already begun, the representative began talking to people in English football. It would be an option for him to go to English football, which is one of his dreams.”

Malagón’s currently valuation is $7m [€6.7m] but Infobae state Club América would ask around $11m [€10.5m] for him. The figure quoted would be affordable for Crystal Palace to sign the Mexico international.

Oliver Glasner has Dean Henderson, Matt Turner and Remi Matthews as the goalkeepers at his disposal. Henderson is the first choice for the manager while the latter two have their deals expiring in 2025.

If Malagón were to arrive at Crystal Palace, he could end up replacing one of Turner or Matthews in the squad.
