On Monday, Kicker reported Bayer Leverkusen’s Nadiem Amiri was open to joining Leeds United after initially being reluctant to make a switch to Elland Road.

Later that day, Bild said the midfielder had agreed a lucrative four-year deal with the Whites but the German newspaper wasn’t certain the deal would go through, probably because he could still change his stance at the last minute.

Sky Deutschland have relayed these claims and give their own take on the possibility of Leeds signing the 26-year-old.

It’s claimed the player made a trip from Düsseldorf to England yesterday to hold ‘final negotiations’ with Daniel Farke’s side and also take a closer look at ‘everything about the club’.

There has been a ‘crazy turnaround’ in this case as the website explains that the two parties couldn’t reach an agreement and Amiri flew back to Germany on Monday evening.

Therefore, Sky state the Germany international won’t be joining the Championship side despite other reports indicating he was about to move to Leeds.

Amiri still wants to change clubs before the window closes on Friday. His deal expires in 2024 and the outlet adds the Bundesliga side have requested €6m to part ways with him.
