Celtic have included Royal Antwerp star Michel-Ange Balikwisha in their target list as they look to provide Brendan Rodgers more options in attack next season.

The winger starred for the Belgian club last season, scoring 10 goals and registering eight assists from 44 games, and this has attracted Celtic.

That’s according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide more on Celtic’s pursuit of the 23-year-old.

He claims Celtic have ‘entered into discussion’ with the Belgian’s entourage to find out the possibility of securing his services this summer.

Tavolieri makes no mention of what happened during the talks between the two parties, but says there’s a ‘confirmed interest’ from Brendan Rodgers’ side in the attacker’s profile.

He further adds the Scottish champions should open talks with the Jupiler Pro League side ‘this week to make some progress’ in their efforts to sign Balikwisha. There should be more updates after Celtic start negotiations with Royal Antwerp in the next few days.

Both Balikwisha and Royal Antwerp will have a decision to make if Celtic were to make a concrete approach to sign the player.
