On Tuesday, we covered claims from Brazil that Santos have already accepted Chelsea’s €20m bid for Deivid Washington and the Blues have to find an agreement with the player to get the deal over the line.
It was also stated AS Monaco are interested in the forward but didn’t table an offer. That has changed in the last few hours, according to UOL.
The report states the Ligue 1 side have not only made a bid but have also matched the €20m offer tabled by Chelsea.
It’s said the conditions offered by Mauricio Pochettino’s side are €15m fixed fee plus €5m bonuses while that of Monaco is €16m plus €4m bonuses.
As things stand, UOL say the 18-year-old prefers to make a switch to England because Chelsea are offering him a higher salary and better commission to his agent.
However, Monaco aren’t ready to give up and are using their sporting project to convince the player to join them.
Globo Esporte also state conditions offered by Monaco [€16m+€4m] is better than the one made by the west London club [€15m+5m].
Both reports don’t mention Washington’s final decision, which is now awaited by Chelsea, Monaco and Santos.
