Zenit St Petersburg fitness coach Ivan Karmina has informed Russian media outlet Sport Express the club are ready for Celtic this week.
Roberto Mancini’s side have been continuing their winter training in Turkey, but Karmina said match fitness will not be an issue when the two sides met at Celtic Park on Thursday.
Karmina said: “We have been working on this since December. We scheduled all of our programme for this match. We calculated everything because it’s an important game.
“After the talks with Mancini and the players, we felt this was the best way to go. Now our guys are perfectly ready for the games against Celtic.”
Zenit will be hoping to beat Brendan Rodgers’ men to advance to the last 16 of the Europa League, with the return leg to be held in St Petersburg next week.
Celtic made the knockout stages of the competition after finishing third in their Champions League group, at the expense of Anderlecht.
The Russian side won their last friendly game against Maribor this weekend thanks to goals from Dimitry Pletnev, Emiliano Rigoni and Alexander Kokorin, and will be confident going into the game in Glasgow.
