Sevilla’s talks with Arsenal over Sambi Lokonga are continuing to progress positively as the Spanish side eye up a loan deal for the midfielder.
That’s according to Diario de Sevilla, who say the Belgian is a ‘real option’, and a player they’ve been interested in for some time.
The newspaper explains that Sevilla are eyeing up various options to reinforce their team this summer and one of those currently on the table is Lokonga.
The Spanish club are limited in what they can do financially so director of football Victor Orta has to prioritise his funds accordingly, something which makes a loan deal for the Arsenal man very attractive.
He is a ‘more than real option’ for them and talks with Arsenal are already underway and ‘progressing positively’. The hope is that he could be at Sevilla for the start of pre-season.
Their interest in the midfielder is nothing new as they had looked at a deal for him in the past, before ultimately going with other options to reinforce their squad.
They’ve always liked him and now everything is lining up for him to be a main target this summer and finally make the move.
