Nottingham Forest reportedly reached a verbal agreement with CA Talleres to sign Ramón Sosa, but didn’t stick to their word. This annoyed the Argentine club, who ended the negotiations with the Reds last week.
Since then, the winger has refused to train and claims from Argentina have said the move to Nottingham Forest isn’t dead yet.
On Monday, a report from the British press said Nottingham Forest are closing in on £11m deal for Sosa. It was also said he’s set to undergo medical tests this week, if the English club were to make progress.
That claim is relayed by La Voz, who then provide their own information on this case.
Talleres’ immediate focus is on the midweek Copa Libertadores clash against River Plate. Their manager, Walter Ribonetto, has confirmed that the Paraguay international won’t be in contention for this crucial clash.
“Ramón isn’t going to be part of the squad list, he’s waiting for his situation to be resolved as soon as possible, for the good of all,” he said.
La Voz then take a look at the report from England which stated Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are edging closer towards completing a deal for the attacker.
They contacted Talleres to find out about this reported new offer from Nottingham Forest and received a response from the club’s board stating: “We are not aware.”
The report says Sosa can still join Nottingham Forest, but at this moment in time, Talleres aren’t aware of any new bid for him.
