It appears that, in the middle of conducting a lot of business, Tottenham are putting any deal for Bryan Gil on hold, much to the frustration of Fiorentina.
The Serie A side are interested in the Spaniard to bolster their attack this January, and would want to sign him on loan, like a few La Liga side have been able to do in the past.
However, reports from Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport on Thursday both suggest Tottenham are putting the brakes on that for now.
The former of the two explain that Fiorentina feel Gil could be the ‘right solution’ for their problems in January, but La Viola are ‘waiting for a definitive opening’ from Spurs regarding a temporary deal.
This is echoed by Corriere dello Sport, who explain that an approach could ‘take shape in next few hours’, but they are ‘still waiting to understand’ whether Tottenham would be happy with a loan move.
The newspaper then add that, to date, Spurs have not given any signals ‘for this desire’, meaning they would rather sell him permanently if he were to leave London in the current transfer window.
One to keep an eye on, especially if Fiorentina do make their first move.
