It seems Watford loanee Juergen Elitim may end up staying in Spain for longer.
Loaned by the Hornets to Racing Santander last summer, the 23-year-old was supposed to return to Vicarage Road at the end of the season.
However, as Cadena SER now writes about the plans the Spanish club have for the next season, they include something about Elitim.
It’s said that besides Racing’s intention to keep all of their staff, they’ll also try to keep some of their players.
Club director Mikel Martija is the one in charge of that, and will reportedly try to hold the Watford midfielder.
For now, there’s no information on how the La Liga will try to do that. Elitim has already left the Hornets in many loans, and a new spell would be no surprise.
Featuring for Racing this season, the midfielder made 29 appearances, and was a regular starter in the final stretch of the season.
The player is valued by Transfermarkt at only €700k, so even if Watford accept to sell him, it’s unlikely they’ll be making a huge sale.
