Despite starting off with some difficulties after leaving Leicester City for Bologna on loan, Victor Kristiansen has managed to turn his season around impressively.
In fact, as we have covered in the past and recalled by Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday, Bologna are so happy with him that those in charge ‘will do everything’ to keep him.
The issue for Leicester is they want to do so for less than the pre-agreed €15m option to buy in the loan, which may be difficult to achieve.
This is because the Dane has been very good of late, and the Foxes could easily point to his form and use it as an argument as to why he is worth it.
With that in mind, Bologna ‘will count’ on his desire to stay to ‘revisit the numbers’ agreed with Leicester in the summer when Kristiansen made it clear he wasn’t happy with the way Enzo Maresca had been using him in preseason.
The only alternative is that the Foxes agree to renew the loan to keep Kristiansen happy, but that’s something the Serie A side aren’t overly optimistic about.
Therefore, on the off chance they can’t get anything agreed with Leicester, they are looking at alternatives, such as Archie Brown and Bjorn Meijer.
