Yeni Safak have today reported on the latest developments regarding the future of Southampton forward Paul Onuachu.
Onuachu spent last season at Trabzonspor, and he’s been linked with a move back to the Super Lig side.
According to Yeni Safak, Trabzonspor are in transfer talks with Southampton, but they are unwilling to pay the €15m the Premier League side are said to want for the 30-year-old.
Subsequently, no offer has yet to come in for the player and Trabzonspor are reportedly prepared to wait until the final days of the window.
It’s claimed that if an offer was to come in from the Trabzon club, then it would be to loan Onuachu for another season, with an option to buy. The forward is also said to be keen for a move back to the Turkish side after his successful spell there.
Trabzonspor should expect competition to sign the Southampton man following recent reports Besiktas are also showing an interest. The Black Eagles want to bring in a centre forward this summer.
Onuachu made 25 appearances last season, scoring an impressive 17 goals. He’s contracted to the Saints until June 2026.
