Celtic have been warned that it will cost “€10m” if they wish to sign Aïssa Laïdouni from Ferencvaros in the January transfer window.

That’s according to the club’s CEO Pal Orosz, who has insisted there have been no concrete offers for the player as yet.

Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic were linked with a move for Laidouni at the beginning of this month, with it explained that his performances for Tunisia at the World Cup had earned him admirers.

Celtic, VfL Wolfsburg and ab unnamed English club were said to be in the mix, particularly as Ferencvaros would be willing to do a deal for €4m.

That appears to have now changed, with Fussball Transfers now following up that original report with comments from Orosz.

They explain that Laïdouni will not be a ‘bargain’ transfer as expected and instead Orosz and co will be demanding at least “€10m”.

“There is interest, but no concrete offers yet. The price for a player of this quality is high,” he is quoted as telling Hungarian radio station ‘Sport Radio’.

Whether that’s a price Celtic are willing to pay for the midfielder remains to be seen, but it seems his performances in Qatar have ramped up his price and his club’s determination to make as much money as possible from any potential sale.
