Fluminense are waiting for Fulham to make an official offer for midfielder André as they reportedly eye him as a replacement for Joao Palhinha.
That’s according to UOL, who report that André ‘should leave Fluminense’ in the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian outlet covers reports from England that Fulham have opened talks for André as they step up their efforts to find a replacement for Palhinha.
The Portuguese midfielder completed a move to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, bringing an end to the long-running saga that started last summer when he saw a move collapse on deadline day of the summer transfer window.
His departure will leave a huge hole in Marco Silva’s side, with Palhinha having established himself as the star of the team since his arrival from Sporting Club de Portugal.
André is likely to be at the top of their list after they made moves to sign him last year when it appeared Palhinha would be departing and reports in England have stated they’ve revived their interest.
UOL insist that while that may be the case, Fluminense are still waiting for Fulham to make an official offer to them.
They state that while there is now space for André and he is an ‘old desire’ for those in charge at Craven Cottage, the fact is that no official offer has been made. Negotiations have been resumed but no bid is in place at this point.
That’s likely to change now that Palhinha has departed and it’s surely only a matter of time before this potential transfer gets going once again.
