Earlier today, Tutto Salernitana reported Salernitana have made concrete contacts with Everton for Michael Keane.
The latest report from the same website states the defender was proposed to the Serie A side and and there’s an update.
Tutto Salernitana state the Italian club had held talks with the Everton player’s agent and ‘there will be another’ telephone call on Monday between the two parties to discuss the potential deal.
Due to the 30-year-old’s high wages, Salernitana are looking to take him on a loan deal in the winter market. The Toffees would ‘not resist’ letting the centre-back leave.
He would like to move to Italy but wants to join a club that competes for honours over a team fighting to avoid relegation. Salernitana are 16th in the table, nine points ahead of 18th placed Hellas Verona.
Keane must be convinced if Salernitana want to sign him in January. When the two clubs were talking about the defender, Frank Lampard’s side asked about Boulaye Dia, who is on loan from Villarreal.
It’s explained Everton like the striker ‘very much’, but Salernitana will only discuss his sale next summer, after they make his loan stay permanent.
