Filip Krovinović returning to West Brom was one of the transfer sagas of the summer, with the Baggies and Benfica locking horns over the terms of a deal.

The midfielder had been on loan at West Brom last season, and the Lisbon club expected his move to be made permanent once Slaven Bilic secured the club promotion to the Premier League.

West Brom thought otherwise, instead insisting that they would only take Krovinović on loan again. Over at Benfica’s end they worried that could see the player’s value drop if he didn’t have a good season, and it appears they were right to have those concerns.

The 25-year-old has 542 minutes in the Premier League so far this campaign, and has drifted away from prominence recently. Transfer rumours have therefore been encouraged and Record reports PAOK are interested in the player.

Having initiated talks, the Greek club would have to get agreement from both West Brom and Benfica.

Record believe that if Krovinović asks to leave, then Sam Allardyce won’t stand in his way, so therefore it would be down to the Liga NOS side.
