Atalanta are studying if there is a chance to sign Odsonne Edouard from Crystal Palace, and they’re not the only ones interested.
That’s according to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, who says the Italian side want to give manager Gian Piero Gasperini a new striker and the Crystal Palace man is on their list.
They see Edouard as a striker who has a powerful physique, who is good at heading and combine physical power with a fair amount of speed and good basic technique.
They’re aware of the striker’s history, particularly his profligate spell at Celtic, and could make a move for him before the end of the window.
There’s no mention of whether they’d look at a permanent transfer or a loan deal, just that the Frenchman is on their list of options. It’s also stated that ‘there is competition’ for the Crystal Palace man but they are not named.
Either way, the idea is there as the Italian side explore options to replace the injured Gianluca Scamacca. His absence has left them with just Mateo Retegui.
A signing is needed then, and their attention may now be on Crystal Palace, although they’re yet to do anything serious.
