Brazilian side Palmeiras seem very confident that Luis Guilherme will succeed at West Ham United.
With the clubs about to close the youngster’s transfer, the local media continues to share some updates on the final details being agreed.
As UOL discusses the deal, journalist André Hernan explains that West Ham are paying €23m plus a potential €7m in bonuses, which is way below the player’s €55m release clause.
Palmeiras are selling Estêvão to Chelsea for a price above his release clause, and there’s a reason why they’re not pushing for the same with Luis Guilherme and the Hammers.
Since the Brazilian side are keeping 20% of a future transfer, they believe an extra €25m can be achieved once he succeeds at West Ham and moves to a ‘bigger club’.
Well, that means the Hammers would have to sell him for €125m in the future. Only time will tell whether they’re right, but that’s quite some confidence to show right now, and perhaps an effort to convince fans that the deal will be worth it, since they’re being criticised for selling Luis Guilherme, Estêvão and Endrick all at the same time.
