It appears that Thomas Tuchel is about to get the right-back he wanted at Bayern Munich this summer, and that man is Manchester City’s Kyle Walker.
The news comes from Florian Plettenberg, who took to Twitter to reveal the latest in the Bavarian club’s attempts to sign the England international.
The Sky Germany journalist reveals that Bayern Munich have ‘reached a total verbal agreement’ with the Manchester City defender, who is ‘ready to sign’ for the Bundesliga side.
There is now the next hurdle to overcome, which is for the Germans to ‘find an agreement’ with Manchester City themselves, who might not be overly keen on letting the player go for cheap.
The 33-year-old does only have one year left on his contract at the Etihad, but he was still an important part of Pep Guardiola’s team last season, as they matched Manchester United’s treble achievement.
Plettenberg then adds that the contract Walker has agreed to with Bayern is a two year deal that would keep him there until 2025, with an extra year that could be triggered.
