Last week, Corriere dello Sport reported AC Milan are having an ongoing dialogue with Chelsea for Ruben Loftus-Cheek. It was also explained that the two clubs have started negotiations for his transfer.
Since then, there’s been several claims in Italy discussing the Serie A side’s interest in the midfielder and today’s Gazzetta dello Sport provides us the latest update on this case.
Milan chiefs Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have identified the Chelsea player as the target to bolster their midfield in the summer. He also likes the idea of making a switch to the San Siro.
The Rossoneri have ‘intensified’ the contacts with both the 27-year-old’s entourage and also with the west London club in the last few hours. It’s further stated Stefano Pioli’s side are pushing to try to close the deal ‘quickly’.
Milan are pushing to find a double agreement with both the player and the Blues.
Chelsea are asking for €25m for the England international, and the two clubs have not yet found an agreement but the report says there could be some movements in the next few days.
It’s also worth keeping an eye out on Milan’s potential acquisition of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada, as the Serie A side would have to sell a non-EU player to be able to sign both the Japan international and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the same transfer window.
