Sporting Club de Portugal striker Luis Suarez could be a late target for Nottingham Forest, with the Portuguese club open to a ‘significant offer’.
L’Equipe report that despite being linked with Barcelona, the 28-year-old could end up in the Premier League instead.
Nottingham Forest have ‘begun the process’ of bringing the striker to England. They make no mention of the figures that Nottingham Forest would be willing to pay.
High market value
What they do say is that the Colombian has a ‘high value’ on the market after scoring 38 goals in 53 games for the Portuguese club last season. He has a tally of 39 goals and nine assists in 56 games in total for them.
Nottingham Forest are on the hunt for a striker though. They even recently made a surprise bid for Igor Thiago.
This information from the French newspaper is not corroborated by the Portuguese press, though. In fact, there is no mention of Nottingham Forest in Portugal, or potential interest.

The fight for the starting spot in the team is ‘wide open’. Suarez was handed the role at the weekend, but that was largely due to a back injury hampering the Greek striker.
Manager choice may be key
Manager Rui Borges will be the one to make the decision, which is not an easy one to make. The two strikers are very different profiles, and it becomes a question of what he wants his striker to do.
A Bola explain that while the Greek forward is more robust, the Colombian is faster and moves deftly in tight spaces. So, it is very much a question of style and what the Sporting manager wants.
Crucially, though, there is no indication that Sporting are considering selling either striker. Nor is there any mention of potential interest, particularly from Nottingham Forest.
