Tottenham Hotspur have been dragged into the Ansu Fati drama today, with earlier claims saying he’s chosen to join Spurs over Sevilla.

Mundo Deportivo claimed that the player ‘chose’ to sign for Spurs, even though his father advised Sevilla would be better.

An update on this story is now brought by Sport, who say there’s one ‘condition’ for Barcelona to let Fati go.

It’s said the Camp Nou side would only accept a season-long loan for his departure, and that’s not the terms offered by Tottenham.

According to Sport, Spurs wanted a loan with an option to buy, so that’s something the clubs would need to talk about.

It’s said that in case Barcelona accept those terms, then they’d like to have a buy-back option over Fati, as they don’t want to completely lose control of the player.

Regarding the potential competition for the move, it seems like Tottenham are safe. Sport writes that Spurs are ‘very interested’ and would ‘be his destination’, as they know the player doesn’t have lots of other options at the end of the window.
