Due to Marcelo’s Bielsa fame in Argentina, most of Leeds United’s transfer rumours get covered in the manager’s home country, and now that the boss is said to be following a compatriot, things get even bigger.
Several local outlets cover today the claims saying the Elland Road side are interested in the signing of Adolfo Gaich from San Lorenzo.
This is a story which started in the English media, so the best we could find in Argentina was a response from outlet Olé.
They say there have been many claims of clubs who’ve been following the striker, including the likes of Inter Milan, PSG, Roma and Atalanta.
However, San Lorenzo are said not to be aware about the interest from any of these sides, including Leeds United. There are talks with Brugge and ‘two or three’ other clubs who’ve made approaches.
Since Gaich’s contract with San Lorenzo expires next year and there’s been no agreement for his renewal so far, the club may feel forced to sell the player, which is probably why the rumours sending him into Bielsa’s arms at Elland Road started in the first place.
