Things have been pretty unpredictable in the life of Alexis Mac Allister for the past year.

After succeeding for Argentinos Juniors in 2018, the midfielder was sold to Brighton in a €8m deal last January. Due to the lack of a work permit, he was loaned back to his club.

Then during the summer, Argentine giants Boca Juniors went for the signing, and managed to get him on a new season-long loan deal from the Seagulls, which is running until June 2020.

Now it turns out that Mac Allister has been doing pretty well for the La Bombonera side, and they already dream of keeping him for longer.

Fox Sports (via Bola Vip) brought some news about his case this week, and claimed that it will actually be pretty difficult for Boca Juniors to get Mac Allister permanently.

It’s been said that the Buenos Aires side have the chance to match any offers that Brighton get for the player, but that doesn’t mean they will end up signing him.

It’s still not clear if Brighton will soon have the right to use the player. The last time his situation was clarified, his family were still sorting out a European passport so he could be available for the club next summer. There have been no updates on that, however.

Judging on how well he’s been doing at Boca, he certainly deserves a shot with the Seagulls.
