Trabzonspor have made a bid for Middlesbrough midfielder Dan Barlaser, approaching both the player and his club.
That’s according to 61 Saat, who say the Turkish side have made a move to try and bring the player back to his homeland.
They report that while Trabzonspor are making efforts for a number of players before the transfer window opens, another name to have entered onto their radar is that of the Middlesbrough man.
According to their information, Trabzonspor’s scouting team are big fans of the 27-year-old and have approved him for a transfer this summer.
That’s led the club to make an offer to the player and to Middlesbrough, although the nature of that bid isn’t made clear as yet.
Whether Middlesbrough would be open to selling the midfielder isn’t clear either, having only signed him in a €1.03m deal from Rotherham in January 2023.
He made 33 appearances in the Championship for them last season but only featured in 56% of the available minutes in the league, so he’s not a key player for Michael Carrick at this moment in time.
That’s perhaps what is leading Trabzonspor to make their move and take Barlaser to Turkey this summer, with opening bids made to him and Middlesbrough.
