On Monday morning, it was reported that Tottenham Hotspur started contacts for the signing of Willian Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt.
It was said there’s a ‘strong’ interest from Spurs for the transfer, even with some competition from other Premier League clubs for the 22-year-old.
An update on this pursuit now brought by Fussball News, who claims that Eintracht Frankfurt know how short could Pacho’s stay at their club be.
The player was signed from Royal Antwerp last summer for €9m, and the story’s sources claim the Bundesliga club are aware he can ‘quickly take a next step’ soon.
The story does mention Tottenham’s interest, but always quoting the original report, and it doesn’t sound like there’s big news on that front.
Frankfurt are said to be ready to ‘deal with it’, while information from Bild claims it would take at least €40m to take him from the club.
While Tottenham still study the negotiation, we shall see whether the amount they’ll put on the table would convince the German club to let the player go so soon.
Either way, this appears to be a deal for the summer as Spurs already bolstered their defence in January with the arrival of Radu Dragușin.
