In the past couple of months, Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers were linked to Palmeiras star Raphael Veiga.
The interest from Whites and Wolves in the signing was reported more than once, as the midfielder has been standing out in South American football lately.
It turns out that as Goal now features an update on Veiga’s future, there is some bad news for Fulham, Wolves and any other clubs who chase the 28-year-old.
The outlet has a piece claiming Palmeiras are ‘ignoring’ all the approaches they receive for the player, as they don’t want to sell him.
The club’s idea is to hold him until the end of his contract, in December 2026. So even though clubs showed up willing to pay €15m for him, they simply didn’t open talks to negotiate him.
It’s once again claimed that Fulham and Wolves made their contacts for the player, as well as Arsenal and Chelsea.
So even though Veiga has a Transfermarkt valuation of just €14m, a lot more would be needed to convince Palmeiras of even considering negotiating their star this summer.
