Inter Milan have identified Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Nélson Semedo as the target for the summer transfer window.

Denzel Dumfries is the first choice right wing-back at the San Siro and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A side after this season.

Dumfries’ sale would see the Nerazzurri bring in his replacement and the Wolves player is seen as the potential candidate.

That’s according to InterLive.it, who explain Simone Inzaghi’s side would like to try to sign the 29-year-old after this season.

The Portugal international has less than six months left on his deal and Julen Lopetegui’s side have an option to further extend his deal until 2025, and it seems the website hasn’t taken this into account.

Semedo is represented by Jorge Mendes and Inter want the super-agent to help them get the Wolves fullback for free, but the Italian club face two problems to secure his services.

The former Barcelona man’s current salary at Wolves is ‘too high’ for the Serie A giants.

In addition to this, Inter leaders would prefer to sign a young player to replace Dumfries.

There’s also now the issue that a free transfer in the summer will be ruled out if and when Wolves exercise the option to extend Semedo’s contract until 2025, so it’s really down to Mendes at this point, who could try and work his magic.
