Fenerbahçe have held a meeting with Union Saint-Gilloise for Cameron Puertas, who they want as a replacement for Sebastian Szymanski, who is being targeted by Tottenham.
That’s according to Aksam, who say the Turkish side have eyed Puertas as a replacement for the Polish midfielder, who they are expecting to leave in the summer.
They explain that Fenerbahçe have already held a meeting with Union SG for Puertas as they plan for a major change in their midfield.
Szymanski is expected to depart at the end of the season after his performances have put him on the radar of several European clubs and ‘especially Tottenham’.
They believe he will be leaving for a record fee and someone like Tottenham will pay it and they will need to find a replacement for him if they do.
They’re already moving to find his replacement in case it happens and have held a meeting with Union SG over Puertas as a result.
This has also been backed up in Belgium, who say that they are willing to pay €15m for the Union SG star after they’ve received €25m for Szymanski.
The question is whether Tottenham would pay such a fee for Szymanski, but Fenerbahçe certainly believe a bid is coming from somewhere and are planning for life without the Polish midfielder.
